Who can apply?
We welcome applications from for profit and non-for profit entrepreneurs from all over Germany. We aim for startup operating within our focus areas of climate & environment, health & wellbeing, education & community and basic needs. But we also welcome other startups working on solutions to pressing challenges.
Get to know exciting entrepreneurs and and support them on their mission to deal with some of society's greatest challenges. Share your experience and exchange ideas with the next generation of founders. At the same time, gain access to a network with other mentors and people of the Global Shapers Community.
How much time do I have to commit?
As much as you want to, depending on how many start-ups sessions you want to mentor! As a minimum however, you should be able to commit in total 3h from mid-June to September.
30 min for the initiation call for us to get abetter understanding of your expertize
30 min kick-off call with all mentors including networking
3x45 min for your 1-on-1 mentoring session with the start-up (more and or longer sessions are encouraged where they make sense)
15 min feedback call with us

About MentorUp
How does the mentor-mentee matching process work?
We have access to a network of high-level entrepreneurs, investors, consultants and industry specialists. We will assess your start-up and your ambitions during the initial call. If selected, we pick the most suited mentors for you and your challenges.
Will there be any in-person sessions?
We are currently monitoring Covid-19 restrictions for the upcoming winter batch and are confident that in-person sessions will be available for those who prefer this option.
How do you fund the MentorUp program?
MentorUp is built on voluntary basis. We do not receive and need funding at the moment.

What is the origin of MentorUp?
MentorUp was initially designed as a project to provide professional assistance to local start-ups in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. While we highly encourage applications of start-ups dealing with the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, the scope now also include the three areas of Climate, Education and Health.
